Description

For a research group in the JRC, the European Union Joint Research Centre in Ispra, a new open position as external consultant is available.  The candidate, in the frame of Administrative Arrangements with DG ECHO, will provide support to the daily situational awareness that is carried out by the European Emergency Response Coordination Centre (ERCC); this entails producing a daily bulletin and overview map on disasters in the last 24h.

The following skills are requested:

  • Proficiency in GIS tools
  • Good knowledge of ESRI GIS tools
  • Capability to perform technical studies and analysis in the geo-spatial domain
  • Knowledge of at least one natural disaster field (asset)
  • Background of environmental studies (asset)

Highly motivated, experience and ability in working in an international/multicultural environment, and the ability to participate in multi-lingual meetings. Proficiency in written and spoken English.
