For the JRC, the European Union Joint Research Centre in Ispra, a new open position as data scientist is available in the Disaster Risk Management Unit. The candidate will be focusing on the following tasks:
- Support the processing and development of spatial data chains for an IT operational environment;
- Developing tools to read these data (in their various formats), detect errors and organize them in a consistent data set;
- Contribute to further development and processing of remote sensing data;
- Conduct data mining exercises;
- Provision of input and contributions to the preparation of JRC technical reports and publications of the
Team
The following knowledge and skills are required:
- Good experience in spatial data infrastructures;
- Working experience of Python and its data analysis libraries;
- Good experience in remote sensing data and software.
Highly motivated, experience and ability in working in an international/multicultural environment, and the ability to participate in multi-lingual meetings.
