Job description

For the JRC, the European Union Joint Research Centre in Ispra, a new open position is available in the Food Security Unit. What we are looking for is someone for the role Geospatial Programmer/Developer with main focus on data processing and web GIS backend, frontend development is a plus but not essential. Main focus would be development of new and adaptation of existing python modules in a well organized way mainly for raster and vector data processing.

The following knowledge and skills are required:

  • Professional knowledge of GIS software and tools
  • proficient in Python programming
  • Good knowledge of PostgreSQL and PostGIS
  • knowledge of Geoserver will be considered a plus

Highly motivated, experience and ability in working in an international/multicultural environment, and the ability to participate in multi-lingual meetings.
