For the JRC, the European Union Joint Research Centre in Ispra, a new open position is available. What we are looking for is a DataScientist with experience on GIS data analysis and processing. Main focus would be exploratory data analysis , spatial data processing and development of new raster and vector layers in a well-organized way mainly in relation to forest fires.
The activities will be conducted fully off-site, with an expected deadline two months from the contract’s signature date.
The following knowledge and skills are required:
- Professional knowledge of GIS software and tools
- Proficient in Python programming
- Good knowledge of PostgreSQL and PostGIS
- Good knowledge of GDAL library
Highly motivated, experience and ability in working in an international/multicultural environment, and the ability to participate in multi-lingual meetings.
