The JRC Bioeconomy project, whose results are in part publicly available through the Knowledge Centre for Bioeconomy, supports the Action Plan of the updated Bioeconomy Strategy of the European Commission.
It assesses European and global biomass supply, uses, flows and sustainability and it addresses the impacts linked with production and use of biomass, the competition and the synergies between sectors for biomass resources.
It also models and analyses scenarios and projections of future biomass availability, demand, flows and related impacts.
